 Fuga Perfetta

A collage was composed with sketches of artifacts, plans, and sections from the Sestiere of Cannaregio, Venice Italy. The form of the collage was used to create a site plan which was the basis of the entire structure. The island is designed as a hotel and a location for all sorts of events such as weddings for locals and tourists, traditional practices by the church, important conferences, and musical concerts. Features from both Venice, Italy and Amsterdam, Netherlands were incorporated into the design. A decent size canal was included to arrive, depart, and circulate through the island along with typical venetian columns, Arabic style arches and domes. A long pathway was also incorporated into the design for nice walks and a bike path which was inspired by a popular form of transit in Amsterdam. Due to the rising sea level in Venezia the structure was designed to provide the visitors who spend the night in the hotel a sense of flotation in air. This is a great way for visitors to still have an enjoyable stay regardless of rising water levels at the Fuga Perfetta Hotel.
